Who We Are
We are a charitable organization of individuals who work in the insurance related industry. Our guiding principles are centered around:
CHARACTER, CHARITY, and FELLOWSHIP

We are home office executives, field claims reps, auditors, underwriters, general adjusters, agents, brokers, investigators, contractors, regulators, appraisers, salvors, attorneys, engineers, accountants, contractors, and a host of others.
We meet socially, yet with a purposeful intent to enrich the lives of others through our charitable efforts. Our mutual link is the career experience we have in our chosen field.
Our formal name is the Honorable Order of The Blue Goose, International. We have local chapters, called Ponds, throughout the United States and Canada. The start of a Pond is called a Puddle.
We are called Ganders. Our officers have titles such as Wielder of the Goose Quill, Guardian of the Pond, and Keeper of the Golden Goose Egg. We have a secret initiation ceremony.
Blue Goose offers so much to our Ganders.
Every Pond has its own unique blend of members and of activities. Some Ponds meet in the evenings, some meet at lunch time. Some Ponds meet monthly, and others more or less frequently. Events are in the form of meetings, luncheons/dinners, golf outings, holiday gatherings, and charitable events. There are educational seminars with speakers of all backgrounds, often focusing on insurance industry-related topics. Some Ponds invite their local insurance commissioner’s office to speak on the pressing topics of today. Combined Pond events are popular for networking.
We hold an annual summer convention in a different city each year. Ponds and Regions step up in International leadership roles to have the privilege to host the annual convention.
Our annual convention is a family affair. Ganders are welcome to bring their spouses/guests and children. Activities are planned for Ganders, for non-Gander Spouses/Guests, and for the children.
Why We Do What We Do
Our Ganders have each made a priority to give our time to Blue Goose when we all have other demands on our time.
There is fellowship. We are a community that has become more than just a business association or networking group. Ganders understand that they are a part of something much more special.
There is education. Many of our Ponds have speakers on interesting, newsworthy, and practical topics. Some Ponds host continuing education programs. Blue Goose promotes education and networking with insurance industry organizations throughout the US and Canada. The Blue Goose encourages growth for all in their chosen profession.
There is charity. Our Ponds provide needed support for hundreds of charities. We focus on helping those in need with donating our time, financial support, and donated goods to the Pond’s chosen international, national, and local charities.
There is leadership. The Blue Goose affords many opportunities for organizational leadership on the local and international level. Leadership within the Blue Goose allows our Ganders to gain speaking skills, organizational skills, poise, and confidence. These attributes are essential in today’s world.
